Someone put two washers under the pivot bushing in the release fork. I suspect that the flywheel has been machined, and this was done to move the fork a little closer to the flywheel to compensate; a much better option is to add a washer under the pivot ball. The result can be seen in this picture: a hole in the bushing caused by pressure along the edges of the washers' holes. Fortunately, this bushing is just a $2 part. As for the spacing, I'll check the range of motion when it goes back together and make appropriate changes then, if warranted.
