Heat Exchangers

heatexchangers.jpg

These are part of the heating system, repainted with high-temperature paint. The fan blows air over the engine and some of the warmed air is diverted to the cabin for heat. On its way, it passes over the exhaust pipes, in these heat exchangers, for a little extra warmth. It's interesting that the exhaust pipe cannot be removed from the sheet-metal box, even if the latter is taken apart. The exhaust flange must have been welded onto the pipe after it was inserted into the box.
