Installing the Tooth Ring

Removing the synchro teeth requires a special tool, which you can see in some of the previous photos. To install a tooth ring, you simply press it onto its gear. I switched some of the rings around so that the best ones were on the lower gears; this was something of a judgment call, as all the rings (except first gear, as shown earlier) were pretty good. I bought only one new ring, for first gear, and a new synchro band to go with it.
