First-Reverse Slider

firstreverseslider.jpg

The first-reverse slider is probably the most expensive part of the transmission that is subject to wearout, costing ~$450 from most suppliers. Fortunately, this one looks good. The points on the dog teeth are nice and sharp. This slider has points on only one side, as it engages only one gear. The outer gear teeth engage the reverse idler, shown in earlier pictures.
