I hadn't planned to replace this seal. However, I found one remaining piece of sheet metal that was peeling, and I had to remove the crank pulley to get to its mounting screws. I then noticed some signs of what might be oil leakage, so I thought it prudent to replace the seal. I'm now wondering if I should replace the seal on the flywheel side, too, even though I can see no sign of leakage. Yet.
