Engine Support

enginesupport.jpg

This turned out to be a thoroughly practical way to work on the engine. I placed two two-by-fours over the legs of the crane, added some blocks, and lowered it all onto the structure. I used a jack stand to support the transmission. It was nice and stable this way. When I removed the transmission from the engine, I wanted to make sure it didn't tip, so I reinstalled the nylon straps around it. It's a little less stable without the transmission, so I'll leave them in place.
