Brake Line Replacement

brakelinereplacement.jpg

It's hard to assess the condition of the brake lines, since most are covered with various kinds of schmutz. But since the 912 is a single-master-cylinder car, it's critical that they be in good condition. It's a good idea to replace them every, oh, fifty years, whether they need it or not. And, like so many things, it's much easier to do this with the engine out of the car. The first step is to remove the old lines and tag them with their positions. This is important because the lines in the replacement set are not labeled, so it's necessary to compare lengths of the new and old ones to determine the location of each line.
